[:en]Let’s face it; we all want beautiful, flawless and acne-free skin. Following a rigid skincare routine can only do so much to make us look great. Whether you’re excited, stressed or happy, your face is the one that usually gives it away. Follow the tips below to keep blemishes away while enhancing your natural beauty in time for summer!

Start prepping your skin for the bare-skin occasions in the summer period ahead. Call or visit us today for more information about our effective treatments!

Remove Your Makeup Before Sleeping

Always ensure that you remove any makeup before heading to bed. Makeup prevents the skin from breathing at night and can lead to clogged pores and blackheads. Whether you use a makeup remover or cotton pad with oil, wipe it all off before bed. Another tip to remember is to exfoliate at least once or twice a week. This helps remove dead cells to reveal healthier-looking skin.

To improve your skin’s appearance, consider our skin revitalization (MaxG) service that helps reverse sun damage and treats those pesky facial veins. The treatments are short without downtime.

Beware of the Sun

Days in South Texas are, for the most part, hot and sunny to say the least. Even during winter, we still get more than our fair share of UV rays. With that being said, make sure to apply sunscreen with an SPF level of at least 30 to block UV rays. Remember, sun exposure causes age spots and wrinkles that make us look older than we really are. Even if it happens to be cold outside, carry your UV ray cream with you just in case. There are still reflective surfaces that can bounce UV rays towards you.

Work it Out!

Exercise regularly, whether it’s power walking, yoga or free weights. Doing so will give your body a great level of blood circulation and increases the cleansing process. As long as you break a sweat, you’ll start seeing a certain glow on your face. Even a walk around the park helps, as long as your heart rate increases and blood starts pumping.

Get Enough Sleep

Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep every night. Throughout the day, your skin will get tired just like you. Before calling it a night, make sure to exfoliate and use mild cleansers that don’t have alcohol. If you have naturally dry skin, avoid hot water since it can dry it out even further.

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

Water helps flush out toxins our body consumes throughout the day, so drinking at least eight glasses can help your skin glow. Fruits and vegetables such as cucumbers, watermelons, strawberries and grapefruits are filled with water as well. Instead of making a trip to the vending marching during break time for a can of soda, pack a bowl of fresh fruit or vegetables to boost your immune system and brighten your skin’s completion.

Fight and Stop Acne

Don’t ever pop your pimples as doing this can lead to infections, scarring, swelling and redness in the area. Avoid getting these bumpy annoyances by washing your face with warm water at least twice a day: once in the morning and again before bed.

Eating Healthy Helps

Whether you need healthier-looking skin or want to tone up, everything starts with eating healthier. Skin impurities come from digestive problems, which result in less-than-stellar-looking skin. In order to achieve glowing skin, look for foods with micronutrients and vitamins like brown rice, fish, quinoa and nuts. Tomatoes, broccoli and beets can also help your skin look great. Avoid processed foods, and be sure to eat plenty of Omega-3 fatty acids to keep your skin glowing.
