Be Transparent with Us

For your ultimate safety, tell us about your medical history so when can have a good understanding to better determine if Botox is right for you. Any type of medication you’re on, whether if it's a supplement, or even if you’re planning on having a certain medical procedure performed in the near future, we want to know about it. Tell us:

  • Which supplements, herbs or medication you are taking
  • Allergies you might have
  • If you suffer from a medical condition or illnesses
  • If you will have in the near future or have had medical procedures performed
  • Anything else you believe we might need to know

Before

Make sure to tell us which facial areas you want treated, how you think they will be fixed and what kind of results you’re expecting. Everyone has a different aesthetic, and results will vary from person to person. Please remember that your Botox injections may not work the same way it did with a friend or someone you know who got great results. Everyone is different with a variety of wrinkles that are unique to their individual genetic makeup.

We also encourage you to come in with an open mind and have realistic expectations of what Botox can do, just so that it saves you from unnecessary disappointment. We also recommend for you to quit taking medication and substances that thin the blood a week before your treatment, such as aspirin, Excedrin and Ginkgo Biloba. This will help minimize post-Botox bruising, and, of course, avoid alcohol a few days before your treatment.

During

While what you do during Botox is usually not that important as to what you do before or after, we’ll still give you some tips to keep in mind that might make the process somewhat easier:

  • Come natural: your skin should be clean before you show up for the treatment. Nothing should be on your skin; if you wear makeup, remember to remove it.
  • Stay Still: During the treatment, be as relaxed as possible. Botox is administered quickly and will be over before you know it.

After

What to do after Botox and how take care of the treated area(s) is very important. Below are some things to keep in mind:

  • Try not to touch your skin where the Botox was injected. Avoid massaging or rubbing the area for at least 24 hours so that Botox doesn’t spread to other parts of the face
  • Avoid hard physical activity
  • Avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol
  • Avoid getting chemical peels or facials
  • Avoid the blood-thinning substances we mentioned above

Taking all of these measures before, during and after Botox will help you get a much better experience and results with the treatment. The more precautions you take during these phases will ensure that treatments are given the opportunity to work at their very best. If you have any questions about what to do before, during or after treatment, we encourage you to ask away!
