Peptides are strings of amino acids that appear naturally in the body and carry out a wide variety of functions. They’re similar to proteins but may be easier for the body to break down thanks to their smaller size. Peptides support a range of physical functions, from building muscles to fighting inflammation. As a result, peptide therapies are also used for a variety of purposes, including anti-aging, metabolism-boosting, and immune support. There are many different types of peptides and each has its own strengths.
Peptides work by boosting the production of human growth hormones (HGH) in your body. While some people will take HGH treatments to combat aging, these treatments can be extremely expensive, and there are some serious risks to long-term use. Peptides, on the other hand, work to boost HGH in the body without the risk. This boost of HGH helps to slow the process of aging and improve your energy levels.
Depending on the type of peptide therapy you pursue, you can see a wide range of benefits. At Uptown med spa, we love peptide therapy for anti-aging thanks to these advantages:
There are three types of peptides that we recommend for their powerful anti-aging properties: Sermorelin, CJC-1295, and GHK-Copper. Sermorelin is one of the more commonly used peptide therapies and is known for its ability to boost skin thickness, bone density, joint health, muscle strength, and stamina. CJC-1295 is another common peptide therapy, with its benefits being anti-aging, increased metabolism, improved sleep, and improved stamina. GHK-Copper peptides, finally, can help with wound healing, stimulating collagen production, and clearing free radicals from the body.
Our peptide therapies are physician-directed, but you can expect to receive your treatment from a med spa clinician. Peptide therapies are administered multiple times per week via a subcutaneous injection, meaning an injection beneath the skin. There may be some discomfort with the actual injection, but there are virtually no side effects of peptide therapy. Some patients may experience an allergic reaction to certain peptides. You can expect to start seeing the positive effects of peptide therapy within a few months of beginning treatment.
